About the Journal

Al-Maqasid: Kajian Ilmu Hukum & Ekonomi Syariah (Sinta …, p-ISSN: ……, e-ISSN: ……) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Fakultas Syariah, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, twice a year (… and …), and has been in publication since …. Since its establishment, Al-Maqasid has consistently published scholarly and authoritative articles that address contemporary issues in Islamic law and sharia-based economic studies, both at the conceptual and practical levels. The journal aims to provide an academic forum for sustained and critical discussion of topics aligned with its focus and scope, particularly those that can be examined empirically or normatively within the following fields:

  • Islamic Law (Ahkam al-Syariah): Islamic legal theory and jurisprudence (ushul fiqh, fiqh), Islamic family law, Islamic criminal law, Islamic constitutional law, Islamic economic law, and contemporary legal issues in Muslim societies.
  • Sharia Economics & Finance: Islamic banking and finance, Islamic microfinance, zakat and waqf management, halal industry regulations, Islamic business ethics, sharia economic policy, and the development of maqasid-based economic frameworks.
  • Law and Society: socio-legal studies, legal pluralism, customary law in relation to Islamic law, governance and legal institutions, and the interaction between Islamic law and modern state law.

The editorial policy of Al-Maqasid prioritizes manuscripts that contribute to broader scientific conversations within law and sharia economics—articles that, while grounded in specialized expertise, reveal insights of general interest or relevance to scholars, policymakers, and practitioners. Manuscripts outside the fields of Islamic law, sharia economics, and socio-legal studies are beyond the scope of the journal.
